Farm Log #1-Green Shakes

Participating with cultivate together is such a rewarding experience. You gain knowledge about growing food, the relationship of plants and it’s environment, a nice little exercise (from maintaining the farm), a new social network of like minded individuals that you participate with, and last but not least, some veggies from our harvests. So far, I’ve picked and eaten veggies such as kale, bok choy, a few varieties of lettuce, wax beans, parsley, broccoli, and cilantro to name a few. Some individuals may have problems finding creative ways to cook with certain items. Though all these vegetables are of high quality and nutrition, they may not be the most attractive thing to your. One of the ways I consume the items I harvest is by putting them all in a high powered blender, and adding some pineapple, orange juice or both. You’re able to mix a variety of veggies this way into your diet, and it won’t even feel like a chore doing it. I’ve been juicing a majority of the items I receive from the farm, and I have to say I have more energy than I had before.
